Areas of opportunity
- Corporate Finance & Accounting — The Corporate Finance & Accounting team provides accounting, financial reporting and analysis, innovative solutions, and other insightful business information that drives business decision-making for the organization.
- Global Institutional Operations and Accounting (GIO) — GIO provides accounting and operations support for institutional accounts and publicly owned mutual funds and unit trusts. This team assesses the impact of global market events and regulatory changes to our business, and calculates/distributes daily net asset values used to price our clients’ transactions. Additionally, the team analyzes the impact of complex transactions in our clients’ portfolio investments. Associates consistently challenge the status quo and seek best practices while providing accurate and timely information.
- Global Securities Administration (GSA) — GSA supports the investment process by proactively researching, identifying, and providing accurate, timely and complete investment reference data and solutions to the business departments within the organization. Core functions include asset setup and data maintenance, corporate actions sourcing, instruction and processing, equity securities and foreign exchange pricing, and facilitating the fair valuation process. GSA associates interact with a diverse group of internal and external parties around the world, including fund accountants; investment professionals; traders; legal, compliance and other investment support associates and external service providers.
- Mutual Fund Accounting — The accounting team for Capital Research and Management Company conducts reporting and financial analysis for American Funds, one of the largest mutual fund families in the U.S. This team is responsible for the calculation of daily mutual fund prices, regulatory and board reporting, and tax compliance. Team members may also work on ad hoc projects involving systems and other operational initiatives.
- Private Client Services Oversight — Our Private Client Services (PCS) group serves the unique needs of wealthy individuals, their families and foundations. PCS Oversight plays a central role in the oversight process for the accounting, operations and tax functions for high-net-worth clients. Additionally, the team oversees outsourced functions such as custody, reconciliation, statements, results and accounting systems.
- Private Equity Accounting & Operations — The Private Equity (PE) Accounting & Operations team is the global finance and operational engine that supports an experienced team of private equity investment professionals in place since 1992. The PE team interacts with banks, brokers and Capital associates around the globe to ensure Capital International Private Equity Fund (CIPEF) investment decisions are executed seamlessly. Responsibilities include preparation of fund financial statements and client reporting, researching and implementing new accounting pronouncements, and reflecting complex emerging market investment transactions in the accounting records.
