Frequently Asked Questions
Why join the Capital Group?
Why should I consider a position in financial services instead of working for a technology company?
There are several reasons why you should consider an organization like ours instead of a technology company. The investment management business relies heavily on technology for its success, and the Capital Group, in particular, is a very data-driven company that employs rigorous analysis for all business decisions. Our investment professionals rely on the critical systems we provide. As a result, the IT group is viewed as a full partner with the business.
Why should I consider a private company that doesn’t offer stock options instead of a company that is traded publicly?
As a privately held company, the Capital Group can take a long-term approach to our decision-making, investing in systems that will provide us with a competitive advantage.
What’s the culture like within your IT Group?
We have a culture that rewards innovation, values collaboration and diversity of thought. We encourage all associates to suggest long-term, innovative, durable solutions. If an idea is good, we want to bring it forward. We encourage associates to talk through an idea with someone who has a bias against it. That allows them to hear the other side and develop a balanced view. Associates are encouraged to use communication skills to build support for their ideas.
